Beams, directional Antennas

The top class of short wave antennas are still the beams, i.e. directional antennas for one or more amateur radio bands. They require a small tubular mast on the roof of the house or a larger mast in the garden, the height above ground plays an important role in the radiation of these antennas. A sufficient height above ground provides a flat radiation angle.

FAQ

What are shortwave directional antennas?
Shortwave directional antennas are antennas specifically aimed at receiving or transmitting shortwave radio signals. They are typically used for amateur radio, surveillance, weather and aircraft communications.
What are the advantages of shortwave directional antennas?
Shortwave directional antennas offer higher sensitivity and selectivity than wideband antennas because they are only pointed in a particular direction and therefore receive less interference. They are also capable of receiving or transmitting signals at longer distances.
What are the different types of shortwave directional antennas?
There are different types of shortwave directional antennas, such as Yagi antennas, dipole antennas, parabolic reflector antennas and more. Each type has its own advantages and disadvantages and is suitable for different applications.
