The robust and reliable Cushcraft Beams A3S and A4s are powerful yagis for the bands 10, 15 and 20 meters and first choice for contests and DX operation.
The 4-element version has an additional reflector for the 10m band, which helps to improve the gain as well as the front/back ratio.
The elements are mounted "hanging" under the boom. They are secured against twisting, which allows their use even in harsh conditions. There is no need to brace the antenna.
The mounting material has also been carefully selected and is made of durable, stainless steel.
The antenna almost achieves the performance of a full-size Yagi with smaller dimensions. Due to the use of traps, the elements are significantly shorter.
The antenna does not require a balun, but we recommend feeding it via an RF choke with 15 cm inner diameter, quickly made from 8 turns of coaxial cable.
