The Cushcraft MA-5B/-6B are 5- and 6-band "minibeams" for the bands from 20m to 6m.
The MA-5B with 3 elements operates on 20, 17, 15, 12 and 10m, the MA-6B variant additionally supports the 6m band and has 6 elements.
By using traps and end capacitors, the MA-5B can cover 5 bands simultaneously. The dimensions with boom lengths of less than 3 meters are small enough to place the antennas also on a tripod, e.g. at fieldday.
The elements are mounted "hanging" under the boom. They are secured against twisting, which allows their use even under rough conditions. A bracing of the antennas is not necessary and also not intended.
The mounting material has also been carefully selected and is made of durable stainless steel.
Dia MA-5B operates on 10m, 15m and 20m as a 2-element beam. On 12m and 17m one element is active each.
On MA-6B works on all bands as a 2-element beam.
