Technical description

The AVM vertical antennas from EAntenna are designed for one band and do not use traps. This results in a simple setup, low wind resistance and an inconspicuous design.

The SWR is in most cases below 2.5:1, in some cases a tuner is necessary. A longer coaxial cable to the feed can help improve matching in extreme cases, where the outer shield acts as a counterweight. Additional radials or counterweights are necessary, here 4 wires of 5m each or 8 wires of 2m each are sufficient, but more are welcome. All antennas can be loaded with up to 5 kW. The indicated wind speed is valid with correct tensioning of all planes in three directions.

Application description

The EAntenna AVM monoband antennas are available for the bands 80, 40, 30 and 20m.

  • 20AVM: The antenna consists of 4 segments and has one guy point.
  • 30AVM: The radiator consists of 6 segments and has guy points on 2 levels
  • 40AVM: The AVM40 also consists of 6 segments with guy points on 2 levels.
  • 80AVM: Due to its impressive height of over 20 meters, this antenna consists of 13 segments. The guy points are on 4 levels.

EAntenna was founded by Rodrigo (EA7JX) with the aim to build high performance antennas for shortwave and VHF/UHF, which at the same time meet very high quality standards but still remain affordable. WiMo took over EAntenna in 2017, the production was moved to Herxheim, Rod moved with his family and still provides good quality - now at WiMo.
