Icom HF Marine SSB Transceiver

the Icom IC-M804 is a shortwave transceiver for long-range communications and any type of vessel. The successor model of the IC-M803 now has EU approval and may thus also be operated on ships under German flag.

It is corrosion-resistant and designed for reliable operation in harsh maritime conditions. The control unit is protected against temporary submersion (30 minutes in 1 m water depth) in accordance with protection class IPX7. The M804 also features an advanced RF direct sensing system that allows for higher receiver sensitivity and better audio quality.

The unit is available in 2 versions:

• Version for 12 V on-board voltage
• Version for 24 V on-board voltage

Emergency call button for emergency situations

The IC-M804 complies with the DSC standards ITUR-M.493-15 and ETSI EN 300 338-4 for class E. In an emergency, pressing the distress button sends a digital distress signal with GNSS coordinates to other vessels or coastal stations. The button is effectively protected from accidental operation behind a protective flap.

Built-in DSC monitoring receiver

A special DSC receiver permanently monitors the six distress channels. A total of 100 MMSI numbers can be stored. For DSC calls (75 individual and 25 group numbers) can be stored with a ten-character ID name.

Intuitive user interface

The combination of directional keys and softkeys allows easy operation. For quick access, the most common functions are assigned to the softkeys at the bottom of the display. Using the large ten-key keypad, you can easily enter channel numbers, MMSI numbers with ID names, etc.

4.3″TFT color display with wide viewing angle.

The high-resolution LC color display ensures a very wide viewing angle of almost 180° and displays characters as well as function icons clearly. Additional comfort is provided by the night mode, which ensures good readability in the dark and protects against glare from the display.

Two-minute memory for instant replay

The instant replay function automatically records audio received in the last two minutes. If communication was unclear, you can listen to the recording and never miss an incoming call.

Integrated GNSS receiver

When the supplied GNSS antenna (cable length 5 m) is connected, the built-in GNSS receiver with GPS, GLONASS and SBAS function can receive your position data, heading, speed and UTC data.

Connectivity for NMEA 2000™ and NMEA 0183-HS

Through the NMEA 2000™ interface, the IC-M804 is able to exchange GNSS data, DSC call and device information, and PGN list data within the network. GNSS position data in standard NMEA 0183-HS can be converted to NMEA 2000™ for other devices.
