Technical description MA-510TR

The MA-510TR can receive both Class-A (commercial vessels) and Class-B ( pleasure craft) AIS signals, enhancing your safety at sea. It has a 4.3" large and easy to read color TFT display with day and night mode. The integrated GPS receiver with SBAS function can not only be used to receive position data, but also allows navigation to a specific waypoint or AIS target, 100 preferred destinations can be stored as waypoints.

The corresponding GPS antenna with 10 m connection cable is included in the scope of delivery.

The data transmission in GMSK is performed with 2 Watt transmit power in the frequency range 161.500 - 162.025 MHz.

The MA-510TR can be connected to a NMEA-2000™ network (external chartplotter, marine radar and VHF marine radio) and connected to a marine radio, chartplotter, marine radar or GPS receiver using the NMEA-0183/-HS interface.

A USB port (Type-B Mini) is also available as a data interface.

Using a compatible Icom VHF marine radio*, an individual DSC call can be sent by selecting an AIS target and the call channel.

The AIS transponder is waterproof to IPX7 (30 minutes in 1 m deep water, excluding connectors).

The power supply can be either 12 or 24 V DC on-board voltage.

Application description MA-510TR

An AIS transponder on your watercraft automatically receives information from other vessels or coastal stations equipped with AIS and itself transmits movement data and other information about the own vessel. The system was introduced to improve safety at sea. AIS-equipped vessels and buoys are displayed and identified even if they are difficult to detect with the ship's radar. The screen displays the positions of other vessels in addition to the vessel's own position, with potentially dangerous vessels highlighted in red. In addition, the collision alarm triggers an acoustic signal.

The AIS target list shows all detected ships and targets equipped with AIS. The Danger List shows vessels that are within six nautical miles of the point of closest approach (CPA) and within 60 minutes of the point of closest approach (TCPA) to your own vessel. Detected AIS targets that have been set as friends appear in the friends list.

The MOB (Man Overboard) function is also used to further increase your own safety. When the [WPT/MOB] key is pressed and held, the unit automatically marks a waypoint with the current position and activates the MOB navigation function to the location where the incident occurred.

If one wishes to hide one's position from other vessels, the AIS transmitter can be temporarily disabled in "silent mode." However, to ensure continued safety, AIS messages can still be received.

With the included mounting bracket, the MA-510TR can be mounted standing or hanging.
