The InnovAntenna 1712DUO is a very compact Yagi antenna for the 17 and 12m WARC bands (18 and 24 MHz) and one of the latest designs from G0KSC.
It does not use a reflector, but only a dipole/LFA hybrid driver, which lies flat on the only 1.56 m short boom, and a director. In this dual-band version, the second active element is placed close enough to allow "open-sleeve" coupling and consequently requires only one feedline. Antennas with multiple feedlines may suffer from interference, which is avoided here.
While this antenna does not provide wideband performance (and is therefore suitable for the WARC bands), it does provide excellent gain and F/B values per meter of boom.
The dual-band yagis for 17 and 12m were calculated using advanced software and then optimized by hand. This allows the designer Justin, G0KSC to achieve good gain and very good robustness to provide reliable performance even in adverse weather conditions.
