Kenwood NX-1200D-FN Freenet handheld radio

The Kenwood NX1200D-FN Freenet radio (VHF) is suitable for both digital and analog communication based on the Freenet radio standard. Six analog channels are available in the 149 MHz range of the 2-meter band, and as many as 12 voice channels are available in digital mode thanks to the DMR time slot method. Operation in the digital DMR or analog Freenet standard is license-free and toll-free in Germany. The higher transmitting power of 1 watt ERP compared to PMR446 devices ensures a greater range. Since the channel utilization in the 2-meter band is also significantly lower, Kenwood Freenet radios are a good alternative to PMR446 radios, especially for semi-professional applications.

Despite its compact dimensions (54 x 123 x 33,5 mm), the NX1200D-FN is extremely robust, durable, reliable and easy to operate. It is protected against dust and splash water according to IP54/55 and meets the tough requirements of 11 US military standards MIL-STD810 C,D,E,F and G. The powerful lithium-ion battery (2000 mAh) allows many hours of radio operation. Extensive accessories such as speaker microphones, headsets and chargers expand the range of applications for almost any field.

Clear and distinct communication

Thanks to state-of-the-art digital technology with DSP and AMBE+2TM vocoder, communication in digital mode is always clear and voice reproduction is natural. In addition, a large internal speaker and a BTL audio amplifier with 1W AF power guarantee full sound and best communication even in noisy environments. The 1 watt ERP transmit power allowed in the Freenet area allows a longer range compared to PMR446 radios.

User-friendly and flexible

The NX1200D-FN not only feels good in the hand, it is also easy to operate with the robust rotary controls for volume and channel selection and the easy-grip PTT button. A large 7-color LED on the top of the device indicates the various operating states during radio operation. The standardized 2-pin accessory connector allows the use of additional audio accessories such as speaker microphones or hearing headsets from the extensive KENWOOD range.
