The main advantage of a receiving antenna is the large bandwidth, i.e. the usability over very large frequency ranges on both short wave and FM. Active antennas, i.e. those with an electronic amplifier, also have the advantage of being very small. Many radio amateurs use receiving antennas to improve the result on certain bands, because other designs are too large. And receiving antennas are very popular with short wave listeners (SWL). The wide range of products does not always make the choice easy, WiMo will be happy to advise you.
Receive Antennas
Some antenna designs are very well suited for reception, but less well suited for transmission, for example because the efficiency is too low (example Beverage antenna). Other reception antennas are particularly broadband and therefore have only a low gain on the transmission side. And still other concepts - such as active antennas - are not suitable for transmission in principle.
