FAQ

What is a SDR receiver?
Software Defined Radio receivers (SDR receivers) are radio receivers whose characteristics are determined by software. In addition to the SWLs (Shortwave Listeners), the listeners on the classic shortwave, the reception by SDR technology is becoming increasingly important.
What is the advantage of simple and very small SDR receivers?
They cover a frequency range previously undreamed of - often up to several GHz. Due to the extremely low power consumption, such SDRs are then perfect for operation on the road - whether on vacation or on a remote site
Are there still analog receivers on shortwave?
For the traditionalists, however, there is also a wide range of analog receivers available, from small handheld scanners to semi-professional desktop units. Even though shortwave is no longer as important to many radio services as it was 20 years ago, observing propagation possibilities on the short wave is still fascinating enough to attract thousands of listening amateurs. The selection of WiMo-only receivers is wide. If you need help with your selection we will be happy to assist you with our experience.
